WORSHIP

Our Style of Musical Worship

Our goal at Emmaus is to create a worship experience that is biblical, authentic and engaging. We are a multi-generational church representing members with diverse backgrounds. Our goal in worship is not to single out or exclude any religious tradition, but to honor God and draw closer to Him. The worship experience at Emmaus often reflects the diversity of our members, incorporating everything from drums and electric guitar to piano and saxophone. Worship is not an event, but a way of life. We encourage you to express yourself to God in worship each Sunday and in your daily life.

Why We Worship

God deserves all praise, glory and honor (Psalm 66:4, Revelation 5:12). When we worship, we are reminded of His nature and character, reflecting on how Christ’s sacrifice gives our lives value. Worship humbles the worldly heart and fulfills God's decrees in Psalm 2:11, Luke 4:8, John 4:23. We worship because it brings us into the presence of God (Psalm 22:3, Matthew 18:20); there, we are transformed (Psalm 97:5), receive affirmation that we are His children (Romans 8:15, 1 John 3:1-2) and are given opportunity to renew our first love.

At Emmaus, worship is not a ritual; it is not a means of preparing people to hear a sermon or to make an offering. Worship is an opportunity for us to renew our relationship with God.
“I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” Psalm 104:33
